‘Bitte Orca’ Owned My Weekend
Never been into Dirty Projectors before this weekend. I thought I’d give the new album ‘Bitte Orca’ a try, because who am I to disagree with the music blog elite?
The album is pretty damn good. I started with “Flourescent Half-Dome” then meandered my way through “Useful Chamber”, “Temecula Sunrise” (my favorite) and the rest. I should have done a kneejerk reaction to this, but the dishes had to be done. And besides, Stereogum has their own effusive preview.
(Side note: why am I running into the derogative use of ‘precious’ everywhere now? Who brought this back?)
Anyway, I enjoyed it whilst doing housework. I think you can expect this at hip outdoor evening hang-outs for years to come.
